At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them #rememberanceday #gratitude

We are truly thankful.
A huge thank you to everyone who provided poppies for this year’s Remembrance. The act of remembrance this year is centred around gratitude.
Dressing the webbing this evening, I had the privilege of reading each and every poppy. I was profoundly humbled by some of the beautiful words written by our students. They expressed thanks for their homes, for clean water, for their education, and for the sacrifice of those who went before us. It was a powerful reminder of how much we have to be grateful for.
We will remember them. #Remembrance #Gratitude #PoppyAppeal

Year 8: You are simply AMAZING! 🤩

We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible success of our Year 8 charity fete! The entire year group truly embodied the fantastic values of Paxman Academy, resulting in a sensational day of fun, teamwork, and integrity.

With fantastic buy-in from all tutors and tutees, the students raised an unbelievable £824.50 for their chosen charity, Cancer Research! This figure was achieved through their super fete stalls, including 'Guess the Cuddly Toy,' 'Hit the Cans,' 'Glitter Tattoos,' and, of course, the ever-popular 'Sponge the Teacher.'

A massive thank you to the brave teachers who gave up their lunches to be soaked—Mr. Evans will certainly never forget the extra money raised to pour a giant bucket of water over him! 😉

We couldn't be prouder of the teamwork and dedication shown by Year 8. Well done!

Celebrating National Poetry Day with 'The Escape Plan'! 📝
What a fantastic way to celebrate National Poetry Day! 🎉

Our students had an inspiring morning attending an online workshop with author and poet Mark Grist, focused on his work "The Escape Plan." The session was a brilliant opportunity for them to explore poetry's power in narrative and personal expression.

Mark's interactive workshop helped bring the world of poetry to life and got our students thinking creatively about how words can be used to explore big ideas and even craft an "escape" through imagination.

It was wonderful to see so many of our young people engaging with poetry and taking part in this national celebration!

Year 11 takes on Westminster! 🇬🇧

Yesterday, we had an incredible day at the Palace of Westminster with a group of our Year 11 students. We enjoyed a fascinating tour through the House of Commons and House of Lords, and learned all about the democratic process, including the real power of petitions.
