We Went ALL IN for World Book Day 2026!
What an incredible week of celebrating the joy of stories! To mark World Book Day and the National Year of Reading, our school community truly lived the "Go All In" motto. From solving mysteries to baking masterpieces, we’ve shown that reading is at the heart of everything we love.
Highlights from our celebration:
🕵️ The Great Escape: Students turned into literary detectives in our Escape Room, solving riddles and unlocking secrets hidden within the pages of classic and modern tales.
🧁 The Big Booky Bake Off: Our star bakers brought stories to life with incredible edible creations! Whether it was a cake inspired by a favourite character or a scene from a beloved novel, the talent (and taste!) was off the charts.
🎭 Staff Storytellers: A huge shoutout to our amazing staff who went above and beyond with their costumes, proving that you’re never too old to get lost in a good book.
🗺️ Literacy Landmarks: From vintage Typewriters to exploring new worlds through Maps, we explored how reading connects us to history, travel, and technology.
Reading isn't just about the classroom—it’s about our passions. Whether you’re into gaming, sports, baking, or art, there is a story for you. Thank you to everyone who made this week so magical!

We’ve just dropped off a haul of chocolate treats for the wonderful residents at Cheviot Nursing Home. There’s nothing like a bit of Dairy Milk and Terry's Chocolate Orange to brighten the day!

It’s time to get moving, Paxman Academy! The game has officially started today, and we want our school community to lead the way.
Beat the Street is a fun, free challenge where you turn your local area into a giant game by walking, cycling, or rolling to collect points. Here is how you can get involved right now:
1️⃣ Download the App: Search for "Beat the Street" in your app store.
2️⃣ Sign Up: Create your account.
3️⃣ Join the Team: Once you’re in, make sure you join the Paxman Academy team! (Check under "School Teams" or "Community Teams" as this may have updated recently).
4️⃣ Cards are available to collect from local libraries
Points are up for grabs all the way until April 22nd, so let’s see how high we can climb on the leader board! 🏆

Day 3 and 4 of skiing 🎿🏔️🌨️❄️
Day 3: HUGE day for the students, we visited folgaria and explored the beautiful scenery that the pisté had to offer. Students tackled the chair lifts and made their way up to some red runs that some thought would never be possible to ski but proved themselves wrong. Students then took to the slopes in some snow tubing races to see who could get to the bottom quickest. Lots of fun had by all, even the teachers!
Day 4: WHITE OUT!!! All students took on some very challenging ski conditions today. Vezzena experienced a huge 15 inches of snow during the early hours of the morning, leaving the piste to look like something straight out of Narnia!
We take on our final day of skiing tomorrow before we head back to England.

Day 2 of skiing!
Students went up a level yesterday and took on the blue slopes with some even taking the chair lift up even higher. Some could say getting off the lift is the trickiest part!
Students are making HUGE progress with their skiing, showing great control and taking on all feedback from our fantastic instructors.
We finished the evening with some great pizza at the local pizzeria.

Day 1 of skiing complete ✅
Students took to the slopes yesterday for their first day of skiing! They showed great resilience throughout the session and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They have even been brushing up on their italian at dinner.
